S1 E47 | Exploring Marble Mountains in Da Nang – Vietnam’s Hidden Gem

Vlogs

Our adventure in Da Nang began with a short scooter ride—about 11 kilometers from the city center—to reach the famous Marble Mountains. Renting the scooter cost us VND 120,000 per day (about INR 400), and soon we were cruising down the highway in light drizzle, excited for the day ahead.

We parked near a small restaurant and began climbing the steep steps that led to the site. At the top of the first stairwell stood a serene white Buddha, framed by lush greenery and a koi pond filled with goldfish. The calm surroundings instantly set the tone for the magical experience that followed.

As we wandered further, we found ourselves in front of ancient temples decorated with bonsais and colorful carvings. The coolest part? From the cliffs, we could see the sparkling coastline and endless blue of the East Vietnam Sea stretching out before us.

One of the highlights was entering a small cave that suddenly opened up into the sky above—an awe-inspiring moment that reminded us just how mystical this place really was. At the very top of the trail, we reached “Heaven’s Gate,” where the views were nothing short of breathtaking: the beach on one side, Da Nang city on the other, rivers meandering through the valley, and cloud-covered mountains in the distance.

Despite the drizzle making the rocks slippery and the hike tiring, every step felt worth it. Scattered along the trails were more temples and shrines, some even hidden inside massive caves. Walking into one of those cavernous spaces, with a temple tucked deep inside, was surreal.

From panoramic vistas to quiet moments by koi ponds, Marble Mountains offered a little of everything—nature, spirituality, and history—all in one unforgettable day.
