S1 E24 | Kolkata Food Walk: Masala Muri, Musambi and Park Street Adventures

Vlogs

Kolkata is not just about history and architecture—it’s a paradise for food lovers! On this day, we started our morning at Al-Sana Hotel (INR 700 for the stay) before heading out to explore some of the city’s most iconic flavors and bustling streets.

Our first stop was a taste of Masala Muri, a local snack that’s spicy, tangy, and utterly addictive (INR 70 for Muri + Papdi). Next, we tried fresh musambi (sweet orange juice), which was incredibly refreshing and naturally sweet—perfect for the humid Kolkata weather (INR 135 for lemon tea, juices, water, and pani puri).

No food trip is complete without a little sightseeing. We visited the Victoria Memorial (INR 60) and were amazed by its 100-year-old architecture and the beautifully maintained gardens. Later, we spent some quiet moments at St. Paul’s Cathedral (INR 20), enjoying the serene atmosphere and colorful glass windows.

After satisfying our taste buds, we roamed around Park Street, Kolkata’s famous shopping and entertainment hub. The area reminded us of Bangalore’s Brigade Road, with branded stores like Decathlon, Hard Rock Cafe, and lively local shops lining the streets. Along the way, we grabbed snacks like Ghoomni Chat + Muri (INR 70) and a guava (INR 20) for a quick energy boost.

For dinner, we tried Blue Poppy on Park Street, where we had a light meal. Walking down Park Street gave us a sense of the city’s energy, diversity, and charm. From the aroma of street food to the bright store signs and lively crowds, it was an experience that captured Kolkata’s essence perfectly.

Kolkata continues to surprise us with its flavors, colors, and hustle, and this food-focused day was a delicious reminder of why we love exploring new cities one bite at a time.
