S1 E01 | From Bangalore to Andaman: The Beginning of Our Big Adventure
15 May 2022
Every big story begins with a small step. For us, it started with two backpacks, an overnight train from Bangalore to Chennai (₹530), and a flight over the Bay of Bengal to the emerald islands of Andaman (₹9,888).
This was the first vlog of our full-time travel journey—a chapter we had dreamed about for years. Nervous, excited, and awkward with the camera, we landed in Port Blair, ready to write our story.
The overnight train from Bangalore to Chennai was the perfect start—bags packed, snacks in hand, hearts racing. A quick metro ride in Chennai (₹80) brought us to the airport, and soon we were flying toward our new adventure.
Stepping into Port Blair’s warm air, we knew this wasn’t just another trip—it was the leap into full-time travel. After checking into a modest hotel (Coral Inn, ₹691), our first task was ferry tickets. Government ferries are cheaper but tricky; private ones are easier but costlier. We opted for the challenge, spending ₹80 on document copies for the booking.
Evening found us at Marina Park, a peaceful spot to watch the sunset over Ross Island. The golden light on the water was the perfect ending to our Day Zero. Hungry and tired, we sampled local street food—Jal Muri (₹30), softy ice cream (₹40), and Momo (₹90)—while laughing at how awkwardly we filmed our first vlog. An auto back to the hotel (₹40) wrapped up the day.
Looking back, the vlog is raw: messy angles, nervous chatter, and endless excitement. But that’s exactly why it’s special. It captures the moment two people from Bangalore stepped into the unknown, chasing freedom and stories across the world.
